Company History

Two Dutch entrepreneurs, Bram Evers and Bram van Leeuwen, arrived to Ecuador in 1997. Having undergone higher education in tourism management in their home country, they disembarked in Ecuador for an internship, that quickly turned into a very long and productive stay.

Andean Travel Company was set up in 2001 as a tour operator specialised in Incoming Tourism and focussed on providing unique itineraries and services that surpass expectations of the most demanding customers. Strong foundations based on respect and cooperation have ensured a steady growth of the company, both in size and reputation. Nowadays, Andean Travel Company arranges all services for travellers from around the world so they can enjoy and get to know the diversity of the vast destinations that South America has to offer. To ensure a consistently high quality of products, services and experiences Andean Travel Company expanded operations to Peru with offices in Lima and Cuzco where they now operate the amazing destinations of Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

From 2004 Bram and Bram promoted their first own exclusive product, a small amazon lodge located in the Upper Amazon Basin of Ecuador named Cotococha Amazon Lodge. Cotococha Amazon Lodge has become a successful company with strong values and connections with the surrounding native communities of the Amazon Rainforest. Currently, these communities are directly involved with the success of the daily operation of this majestic destination. In 2008 they started their cruise operation in the Galapagos Islands with the M/V Galapagos Voyager and a year after with their first class luxury yacht the M/Y Galapagos Odyssey. Early 2011 a top luxurious yacht was launched named M/V Galapagos Grand Odyssey, being the last acquisition to the fleet of yachts that the company currently manages exclusively.

The main compromise for Bram and Bram is to work in the sustainable tourism and interact with communities in conservation projects coaching it members and sharing their knowledge about preservation of natural Resources. With that in mind the company offers this approach as part of the interaction with the local communities in lodging conditioned to serve with high quality services and strong conservation policies, ensuring the decimation of unfavorable impacts on the nature surroundings.

Finally, in 2011 Andean Travel Company has been awarded the Rainforest Alliance Verification for best practices in sustainable tourism operations, certifying our labor and hard work towards our customers and resumes its vision of sustainable and respectful with nature and human being.
